Long-time paranormal researcher Clem Sidons is investigating a Bigfoot sighting that took place in rural western Pennsylvania (near New Brighton) on September 4th, 2000. A Pennsylvania couple, George and Julie Adams, had been out to hear their favorite band, They Might Be Cowboys at a backyard Labor Day gig when suddenly, the self-described "progressive cowboy rock" band launched into their signature song "The Cowboy Way." As usual the crowd, which included several newcomers, started singing along with the lyrics. George Adams noticed that at least one of the newcomers did not seem to know a single word, almost unheard of among They Might Be Cowboys' fans.

Later, George described the newcomer as "a hair-covered manlike creature, with long arms extending below the knees. He was stooped over and his arms were swinging back and forth," claimed Adams. No facial features could be determined because he wore a cowboy hat, but a bit of dark fur could be observed sticking out from under the brim.

The witness estimated that the newcomer, which Sidons believes he has now positively identified as a Bigfoot, was about five to seven feet tall, but would have been much taller if he had stood erect. The hair, which spread over the entire body, was smooth and reddish-brown in color.

"The most outstanding physical feature was the head which was described as very large, and it seemed to slope back into a cone shape. It was about 18 inches (36 centimeters) from the jaw to the peak of the head." (Luckily George carries a measuring tape at all times just in case any large humanoid creatures show up at the gigs.) "He looked human but wasn't," continued Adams, "This may sound like the description of almost any bouncer in any bar but this was no bouncer."

George Adams then stated, "After having only a couple of beers and hearing TMBC play their popular 'Who Cares What The Deputy Thinks?' the Bigfoot made it obvious he loved the music but was too uncomfortable around people to dance very much and soon was on his way out the door. What struck me was how fast he moved once he left the establishment, and how quickly he crossed the road, not even hesitating to go into the woods on the other side. A human would probably look for footing and watch their step, but this thing didn't."

Asked to comment, TMBC band member Bill "B.E." Watson gave this statement to the media: "We've had a number of incidents at our gigs where fans claimed to see all kinds of things such as UFO's, bigfoots, aliens, and the like. Most of these sightings proved to be TMBC fans dressed up in costumes but we're open-minded to the possibilities and we do believe this particular incident warrants further investigation."

New Brighton, PA is near Pittsburgh. While calling indoor sightings "extremely rare" and "highly unusual," Sidon stated that this area of the Allegeheny Mountains has had many witnesses come forward with claims of seeing a Bigfoot, dating back to the first reported sighting in 1961.
